What inspired you to start your own business? 

I was inspired to start my own business because I yearned for an endeavor that would truly resonate with my core values. In my previous career, I observed that the predominant focus was on profit, often at the expense of considering the well-being of people and the planet. This misalignment prompted me to embark on a journey to discover my true purpose and effect meaningful change in a way that aligns with my values.

What are some of your key goals that you worked with Xcelerate on this year? 

This year I worked with Xcelerate with the primary objectives of bolstering sales performance and optimizing our business operations.

How has your identity as a woman and any and all other intersectional identities impacted your business? 

My identity as a woman, in conjunction with my other intersectional identities, has endowed me with a profound sense of empathy and a natural aptitude for connecting with diverse demographics, particularly those who have been marginalized. This perspective serves as a compass, guiding me steadfastly towards our mission, with a dedicated emphasis on community health and meaningful impact.

What were some of the challenges you faced this year and how did working with Xcelerate help you to overcome these challenges? 

This year I faced challenges in overcoming my apprehension towards sales, making cold calls, and gaining clarity on our pricing solutions. Working with Xcelerate proved invaluable in helping me address these hurdles. Their coaches not only provided guidance on boosting sales confidence, but also played a key role in streamlining and improving various aspects of our business operations. With their support, I not only developed sales operations, but we also collaborated closely to refine and articulate our pricing solutions.

Are there any wins or achievements you have celebrated this year while working with Xcelerate? 

Yes, there have been several significant achievements this year while working with Xcelerate. One notable win was securing our largest customer to date, a major retail store that made a substantial purchase of our product. This not only bolstered our sales figures but also solidified our presence in the market and a new geographical location. Additionally, I successfully implemented a new tech platform, which was unfamiliar to me before, showcasing our adaptability and capacity for innovation. This integration has not only enhanced our operational efficiency but also positioned us for future growth and scalability.
