Introducing Our Community Action Committee

Meet our first Community Action Committee — a powerhouse group of business owners bringing their vision, experience, & leadership to help shape the future of our community.

At Xcelerate, community has always been at the heart of what we do. This fall, we’re thrilled to introduce our very first Community Action Committee (CAC) — a group of business owners who are helping shape the future of Xcelerate Women.

These leaders bring experience, creativity, and lived wisdom from across industries — from food and finance to construction, healthcare, and beyond. Together, they’ll guide us in making sure Xcelerate continues to grow as a space that reflects and uplifts the diverse business community we serve.

Alex Grand (she/her)

Co-Founder, Way of Being
A social entrepreneur and conscious consumerism advocate, Alex is passionate about mission-driven businesses.

“I’m feeling particularly called to help build community among business owners who are everyday changemakers, builders, and leaders.”

Dahlia Hanson (she/her)

Owner & Chef, Speed-o Cappuccino
A proud sex worker and food cart owner, Dahlia’s business exclusively hires queer sex workers, transforming stigma into economic justice.

“My business model centers equity and opportunity for stigmatized communities. I want to be part of the support system that uplifts entrepreneurs.”

Janique Bacharach (she/her)

Founder & Principal, Bacharach Construction
Janique transitioned from a 14-year career as a paralegal into building a multimillion-dollar construction business alongside her partner.

“These are trying times for leaders with heart. I want to be a resource for women of like mind to strengthen their resolve and capacity during these unique times.”

Kate Williams (she/her)

Founder & CEO, Kate’s Ice Cream
Kate turned her third ice cream venture into a nationally recognized brand serving plant-based, gluten-free treats.

“I want to build community and help others connect around our unique experiences as business owners.”

Kyikyi (she/her)

Founder, Himalayan Dumplings by Kyikyi
As the first woman-owned Tibetan dumpling brand in the U.S., Kyikyi is using food to tell stories of resilience and heritage.

“With everything going on in the country and around the world that threatens equity and equality, this feels like the right moment to give back. I want to turn the lessons I’ve learned into shared progress.”

Owner & Clinician, Skinwise Rx
A Doctor of Nursing Practice and aesthetic medicine specialist, Lani is passionate about ethical, inclusive care.

“There’s a siloing that can come with entrepreneurship. I want to help grow others and nurture my own business skills.”

Lozelle Mathai (she/her)

Founder, Healthy Bodies of Finance
A Fractional CFO with 18+ years of experience, Lozelle helps health and wellness businesses fall “dangerously in love” with their numbers.

“My intention is to be a guiding light to other women business owners and give back to a community that has helped me make a positive difference.”

Founder, 7Thirty Creative Agency
With nearly 10 years as an entrepreneur, Ly Thuy is a brand and marketing strategist committed to helping women build clarity and confidence.

“I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when business owners have a place to connect and get real support. I want to help more people feel like they’re not doing this alone.”

For 17 years, Melinda has led Bar Carlo, a restaurant rooted in culture, connection, and inclusivity.
